This position serves as the recognized IT technical expert for LEO’s Office of Employment and Training, Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS), Operations and Workforce Development (WD). It is the primary contact point for LEO‑E&T staff, provides high‑level independence and advanced technical skills, and serves as the LEO‑E&T Agency IT Liaison and Agency Software Asset Management (ASAM) Coordinator.
Responsibilities
Support and implement onboarding and departure processes related to equipment and technology for staff and contractors.
Provide oversight, leadership, and accountability for strategic IT projects and programs.
Research and analyze emerging technology and recommend software and hardware upgrades.
Perform technical and non‑technical duties to support the overall IT function.
Serve as the primary liaison between LEO‑E&T staff and agency IT systems.
Qualifications Education
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.
For Departmental Analyst (Departmental Trainee 9), high school completion or equivalent, with the potential to substitute up to two years of active‑duty experience at or above E‑6 level.
Educational substitution: College credits may substitute on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.
Experience
Departmental Analyst 9 : No specific type or amount of experience required.
Departmental Analyst 10 : One year of professional experience.
Departmental Analyst P11 : Two years of professional experience, including one year at an intermediate (10) level in state service.
Departmental Analyst 12 : Three years of professional experience, including one year at an experienced (P11) level in state service.
Departmental Analyst (Departmental Trainee 9)
(classified state employees only):
Four years as an advanced 9‑level worker in an ECP Group One classification, or
Three years as an E9, E10, or E11‑level worker in an ECP Group One classification, or
Two years as an experienced level worker in an ECP Group One technician or paraprofessional classification, or
Two years as a first‑line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification, or
One year as a second‑line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.
