Attorney - Consumer Bankruptcy Practice
About Our Firm
Established consumer bankruptcy firm with offices in Fort Worth and Arlington seeks an attorney to join our growing practice. We've built our reputation helping working families and individuals get a fresh financial start through Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Our firm files approximately 25 cases per month and prides itself on providing compassionate, high-quality representation to clients facing financial hardship.
Position Overview
We are seeking an attorney with 1-2 years of experience to work primarily from our Fort Worth office. You'll manage your own caseload with the support of experienced paralegals and work alongside other attorneys in a collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to make a real difference in clients' lives while developing expertise in federal court practice.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct client consultations and provide legal counsel on bankruptcy options
Prepare and file Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy petitions
Represent clients at 341 meetings of creditors
Attend confirmation hearings and other court proceedings
Manage active caseload of 50-75 cases
Communicate with trustees, creditors' attorneys, and court staff
Work collaboratively with paralegals and support staff
Maintain client relationships throughout the bankruptcy process
Required Qualifications
Active Texas bar membership in good standing
1-2 years of attorney experience (any practice area)
Strong interest in helping individuals and families in financial distress
Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and high-volume caseload
Compassionate approach to working with clients experiencing hardship
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in consumer bankruptcy, civil litigation, family law, or criminal defense
Federal court admission
Bilingual (Spanish/English) capabilities
Experience with high-volume case management
Background in public interest or legal aid work
