Implements changes to and maintains Common Data Models (CDMs) for a variety of research purposes across the department. Works with other organizations to obtain the data required to populate the CDMs as well as write and maintain Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) scripts for the CDMs. Partners closely with Project Management (PM) teams across MUSC to gather data requirements for new research projects. Analyzes and normalizes relevant information related to business processes, functions, and operations to evaluate data credibility and determine relevance and meaning. Develops, implements, and oversees policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software. Assists in developing and implementing long term data management plans. This position will also handle incoming requests for research data queries. Job Duties 35% Data analyst tasks working on developing SQL for research data requests (serving as a data honest broker), which include developing and running queries and verifying results for research projects. 30% ETL Development: Evaluate ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools/solutions as database sizes grow to include more data and different data types. Maintain, modify existing, and/or develop new ETL to support our projects. 10% Gathering data requirements for new and existing funded studies and working with various data owners to determine sources of needed data. 10% Evaluating products, working on committees and attending meetings. 15% Working on other data-driven research projects, which may include machine learning, natural language processing and other artificial intelligence projects. Minimum Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field and three (3) years of experience in systems development and maintenance, technical support or the support of complex database management systems. Physical Requirements
