Overview
The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) was established in 1974 to better respond to the County's need for affordable housing. HOC is authorized to acquire, own, lease, and operate housing; to provide for the construction or renovation of housing; obtain financial assistance from any public or private source to assist its housing activities; and arrange for social services, resident services, and daycare.
Job Description The Nutritional Aide will register new participants, take meal reservations, order meals from caterer, receive and serve meals from the caterer, monitor food temperatures, clean up, interface with residents, oversee volunteer aides, inventory and order supplies as necessary, count and deposit donated funds in accordance with the Montgomery County Senior Nutrition Program guidelines, maintain and submit documentation in accordance with County guidelines. Candidate will undergo training and participate in quarterly meetings with the Montgomery County's Senior Nutrition Program.
Responsibilities
Assisting Participants: Explains the program to new participants; helps participants complete the Participant Registration Forms; acquaints participants with other participants; and informs participants about site policies and procedures.
Site/Administrative Duties:
Available at the site before, during and after the meal; oversees the activities of volunteers.
Post a menu at the site and provide menus to participants.
Ensure the dining room is set up for meal service.
Receive meals: Confirm delivery is correct and that food temperatures are within the safe range.
Sign caterer's delivery slip.
Post a Cost-of-your Meal sign, and oversee the collection of voluntary contributions in a locked container.
Utilizes the Swipe Terminal for all meal recipients according to instructions; sends requests for swipe cards to the Senior Nutrition Program as needed. Takes meal reservations and cancellations; orders meals and supplies from caterer.
Take the temperature of hot and cold foods on arrival and keep a log of temperatures.
Complete deposit slips and deposit money in the bank according to directions for individual sites.
Complete Senior Nutrition Program Forms.
Attend quarterly Nutrition Site Manager Meetings.
Contact the swipe system IT number when problems occur.
Ensure all participants have a swipe card and swipe before each meal.
Cooperate with special requests from the Senior Nutrition Office.
Minimum Qualifications Experience:
At least one year working with adults 62+
Experience in food service preferred.
Education:
A High school diploma is the minimum education requirement.
License and Certifications:
Candidate will need to obtain and hold a Food Manager Certification through ServSafe.
Salary:
Salary determined by departmental budget - Offer commensurate with experience
