Overview
Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing at NMSU Conference Services. New Mexico State University–Alamogordo seeks Nursing Faculty to teach in our Associate of Science in Nursing program. MSN and RN license required. Responsibilities
Provide 15-credit hours of instruction per fall and spring semesters. Maintain an on-campus presence, as required by policy and supervisory requirements. Demonstrate leadership in academic and/or workforce areas and contribute to student retention goals. Participate in educational planning, student orientation and recruiting events, convocation, graduation, and other campus-wide or division/departmental events as assigned. Evaluate processes, subject matter area courses, and student performance. Motivate and advise students. Develop and instruct class/lab/simulation courses, select textbooks and educational resources, and participate in course-level and program assessment and curricular revisions. Provide instruction in courses, labs, clinical and community activities that may occur during the weekday, evenings, or weekends; potential for summer/overload instruction with additional compensation. Participate as a member or chair on various committees and task forces. Identify and communicate needs for supplies and equipment to meet program goals. Engage in professional development activities and perform other duties as assigned; participate in course and program assessment and program review processes. Obtain and maintain required licensure and/or certifications in subject matter fields. Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or nursing education; must be working toward a graduate degree in nursing with a completion date within one year post date of hire, or have a current master’s degree in nursing or nursing education from an accredited institution. Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience. Minimum of one (1) year of college-level teaching experience. Current New Mexico State nursing licensure as a registered nurse in good standing; licensure must be maintained. Experience with healthcare theory, practice, and direct patient care. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to teach face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses. Ability to work with a diverse student population. Understanding of the community college mission and philosophy. Effective oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with Windows and/or Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite. Job Duties and Responsibilities (cont.)
