Children's Learning Place is looking for individuals passionate about working and helping with the development of children from 6 weeks old to 6 years old.

Shift Details

Based on your availability. Approximately 25 hours a week or less.

DCFS and Health Department require physical, TB test, proof of MMR vaccines, and Tdap on the DCFS form (if hired, will go over paperwork)

High school diploma or GED

Qualifications Per DCFS: (a) Early childhood assistants shall meet the requirements of Section 407.100, except subsection. (b) Early childhood and school-age assistants shall have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).

Responsibilities

Help ensure a safe and loving environment for the children’s benefit and the parents’ peace of mind.

Assist teachers with both long and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy.

Assist in the supervision of all children at all times.

Responsible for observations of the Teaching Strategies.

Responsible for working with the teacher to create lesson plans, newsletters, and classroom plans.

Maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment.

Assist in the preparation, serving, and clean up for breakfast, lunch, and snack.

Assist with all difficult situations...ex potty training, positive disciplining.

CPR/First Aid.

Must participate in 15 hours of in-service training or off-site training per calendar year.
