Job Summary The Lab sales team focuses on selling high-quality Cardinal Health Brand Laboratory Products and Services tailored for every lab discipline, including custom kitting and distribution services into hospital and independent labs. The Sales Consultant, Laboratory Products & Distribution has the responsibility for growing Cardinal Health Brand, Preferred National Brand products & distribution services in these facilities. This individual will take the lead role in delivering a complex broad-based portfolio of solutions that meet customer needs and builds and sustains relationships with current and new accounts. Our Cardinal Health Laboratory team is deeply knowledgeable about the clinical lab industry and the challenges it faces, including increasing complexity, workforce shortages, budget constraints and evolving supply chain requirements. Our comprehensive product offering is continuously expanding to meet the requirements of our customers, and we support the end-to-end testing workflow with products for every lab discipline, including custom kitting solutions, capital equipment and point of care options.

Territory Oregon

Responsibilities

Responsible for managing a large territory with the direct objective to increase account penetration, and customer satisfaction within the lab space.

Drive new business, providing optimal service, targeting Cardinal brand conversion opportunities and growth across the lab products portfolio and distribution services.

Collaborates both internally and externally within various business units such as key contacts within national accounts, GPO, and other vendors to achieve results.

Initiates and takes ownership of principles of territory management, including account planning, selling processes, post-sales implementation processes, deal economics.

Negotiates contracts locally, including costing agreements with manufacturers.

Ensures optimal service levels and holds internal teams accountable for customer service, operations, pricing, inventory, etc.

Validates that contacts are loaded in a timely manner and that contracts are backdated correctly and that the integrity of the contract is maintained. Submits and processes all account maintenance for customer accounts within the internal system.

Provides technical support on products such as demonstrations, product samples, and staff trainings.

Completes all administrative tasks and training including expense reports, pipeline, maintaining accurate SFDC records, market feedback, etc.

Attends and participates in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directed, including regional, divisional and sector events such as National Sales Meetings.

Maintains required sales activity levels (e.g., number of visits/calls, products presented per account).

Assists distribution order support and coordination as needed. Assists customers with back-orders and other related service issues.

Maintains knowledge of the current industry/competitive landscape including GPOs, healthcare economics, reimbursement, competitors, and competitive products.

Travels within the assigned territory to call on accounts, including overnight travel, maintaining an active in-person presence.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

Previous successful sales experience in distribution or healthcare preferred; lab experience beneficial

Lives within the managed territory (within 30 minutes of city where largest prime vendors are located)

Experience working with Microsoft applications and other CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)

Understands the sales process in a fast-paced, highly complex selling environment

Must be experienced with business development and cold calling

Strong organizational skills & business acumen

Demonstrate history of high achievement and coachability through new challenges

Ability to travel as needed (about 4-6 overnights a month on average)

A valid driver’s license issued in one of the 50 States with a clean driving record

Customer/Vendor credentialing is required (this may include vaccinations). More details will be provided if you are selected for an interview

Anticipated pay range: $128,000 - $157,800 (includes targeted variable pay) Bonus eligible: Yes

The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
