Overview
Sales Representative - Laboratory Products role at Cardinal Health. The Lab sales team focuses on selling Cardinal Health Brand Laboratory Products and Services tailored for every lab discipline, including custom kitting and distribution services into hospital and independent labs. The Sales Consultant, Laboratory Products & Distribution has the responsibility for growing Cardinal Health Brand, Preferred National Brand products & distribution services in these facilities. This role delivers a complex, broad-based portfolio of solutions that meet customer needs and builds and sustains relationships with current and new accounts. Our Laboratory team is knowledgeable about the clinical lab industry and its challenges, including complexity, workforce shortages, budget constraints and evolving supply chain requirements. We support the end-to-end testing workflow with products for every lab discipline, including custom kitting solutions, capital equipment and point-of-care options. Territory:
Western New York (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse) Responsibilities
Manage a large territory with the objective to increase account penetration and customer satisfaction within the lab space. Drive new business, provide optimal service, target Cardinal brand conversion opportunities, and grow across the lab products portfolio and distribution services. Collaborate internally and externally with various business units and key contacts within national accounts, GPOs, and other vendors to achieve results. Initiate and own territory management principles, including account planning, selling processes, post-sales implementation processes, and deal economics. Negotiate contracts locally, including costing agreements with manufacturers. Ensure optimal service levels and hold internal teams accountable for customer service, operations, pricing, inventory, etc. Validate contacts are loaded in a timely manner and contracts are maintained with data integrity; submit and process all account maintenance in the internal system. Provide technical support on products, including demonstrations, product samples, and staff trainings. Complete administrative tasks and training, including expense reports, pipeline, maintaining accurate SFDC records, and market feedback. Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directed; attend regional, divisional, and sector events including National Sales Meetings. Maintain required sales activity levels (e.g., visits, calls, products presented per account). Assist with distribution order support and coordination as needed; help customers with back-orders and related service issues. Maintain knowledge of the current industry/competitive landscape, including GPOs, healthcare economics, reimbursement, competitors, and products. Travel within the assigned territory to call on accounts, including overnight travel. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience (preferred). Previous successful sales experience in distribution or healthcare (preferred); lab experience beneficial. Residence within the managed territory (within 30 minutes of the city where largest prime vendors are located). Experience with Microsoft applications and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce). Understanding of the sales process in a fast-paced, highly complex selling environment. Experience with business development and cold calling. Strong organizational skills and business acumen. History of high achievement and coachability when facing new challenges. Ability to travel as needed (approximately 4–6 overnight trips per month). Valid driver's license issued in one of the 50 states with a clean driving record. Customer/Vendor credentialing may be required (vaccinations may be involved). Anticipated pay range: $128,000 - $157,800 (includes targeted variable pay).
