Job Description Purpose and Scope: The teaching faculty provide learning activities and support to achieve course objectives and contribute to the educational environment. Primary responsibilities include planning, development and teaching of courses within the curriculum to facilitate student learning. Adjunct faculty are hired part-time on a semester-by-semester basis, contingent on system needs. Employment is year-round for qualified applicants, with adjunct teaching limited to a maximum of five classes per academic year. Classes are offered day, evening and weekend at various times and locations.
Responsibilities Teaches Cybersecurity courses at a variety of times and locations
Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner
Uses a course syllabus following established institutional guidelines
Meets with and advises students before/after class or by appointment, via electronic communication or other appropriate methods
Evaluates students and informs them of progress in a timely manner
Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community
Attends meetings, trainings and orientations as required
Other reasonable, related duties as assigned

Demonstrated leadership skills; collaborative and facilitation abilities
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work with a variety of people

Physical Abilities The work is sedentary; may involve walking, standing, bending, light carrying; no special physical demands required.
Work Schedule and Conditions Equipment includes PC workstation in Windows environment, calculator, phone and office equipment
Interact with internal and external contacts as needed
Work is performed in a climate-controlled classroom/lab with minimal safety hazards
Hours vary by class time; instructors must meet scheduled class times and be available to students outside instruction
Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, computer information technology, computer engineering, computer-based information systems or related field, plus 3 years non-teaching work experience in the field or industry certifications
Salary $55.44 per contact hour.
