Overview
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines is recruiting for a Senior Medical Science Liaison, Dermatology to be based in the Indianapolis, IN territory (which includes Joliet, IL). This is a field-based role with travel required, including in-person engagements with health care professionals and institutions.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a field strategic plan for the assigned territory.
Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries from HCPs, investigators, health systems, and decision makers, integrating scientific data including real-world evidence.
Present data and information in a manner appropriate to the audience and request.
Execute plans regarding reactive and proactive outreach as approved via compliance processes.
Integrate scientific data into real-life practice to meet customer needs and adapt communication style as appropriate.
Anticipate responses from various individuals and teams based on their vantage point and perspective.
Prioritize franchise customer-based initiatives and field responsibilities while balancing administrative duties and projects.
Develop and maintain external relationships with opinion leaders and health care providers; establish and manage territory activities and educational collaborations.
Lead and participate in research initiatives, including collaboration with R&D, Medical Affairs, and operations; support investigator-initiated research and external-internal research communications.
Provide clinical trial support to identify sites, resolve issues, and participate in meetings (e.g., site initiation visits, investigator meetings).
Contribute to scientific leadership by participating in conferences and journals and by sharing medical insights with the team.
Represent Johnson & Johnson at congresses, advisory boards, and other key stakeholder meetings.
Support department operations and internal partners, including administrative tasks and collaboration with regional and local teams.
Qualifications
PharmD, PhD, MD, or other advanced medical degree; NP, PA, or equivalent with +3 years of relevant therapeutic area clinical experience.
2+ years of MSL experience or related work experience in clinical, research, or pharma roles.
Significant experience delivering presentations.
Ability to travel up to 75–80%, including overnight and some weekend commitments.
Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record.
Reside within the defined assigned territory.
Preferred
Knowledge or experience in the relevant therapeutic area and/or Immunology.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and remote collaboration tools.
Reside in or near Indianapolis, IN or Joliet, IL.
Location and Travel
Indianapolis, Indiana, United States (with Joliet, Illinois included in the territory). Travel requirement up to 80%.
