COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE • $27.00 per hour • Full-time, Non-Exempt • W2 Employment • Start Date: ASAP
ROLE IMPACT The Accountant supports financial operations for municipal and educational entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance across payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger activities. This role plays a critical part in maintaining fiscal integrity and supporting audits and financial reporting requirements in alignment with GAAP and public-sector standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform payroll administration and ensure accurate and timely processing in line with IRS regulations • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including reconciliation and variance analysis • Prepare, review, and maintain accounting records and reports for internal and external audits • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account analysis • Collaborate with finance team to improve workflows and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Must have accounting expeirence for a Private or Public School or ISD • 2+ years of professional accounting experience • Experience in an educational environment • Must pass criminal background check and fingerprinting if assigned to academic site
CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS • Microsoft Excel (advanced) • GAAP & Governmental Accounting Standards • IRS compliance (W-2, W-4, 941, W-9, 1099) • PowerSchool eFinancePlus • STW and Vision software
PREFERRED SKILLS • 5+ years in accounting, finance, or payroll • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field — or equivalent experience
