Omni Hotels & Resorts is hiring: Bartender PM- Lobby Bar in New Orleans

Omni Royal Orleans is seeking a Bartender to join our team. Located in the heart of the French Quarter, Omni Royal Orleans anchors the corner of St. Louis and Royal Streets and has long been recognized as a historic Four Diamond hotel that reflects a sophisticated legacy. As part of our recent renovation, the Royal Lobby Bar is a new addition, enhancing our tradition of timeless elegance while offering guests a refreshed experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests promptly in a friendly manner.
• Upsell and suggestive sell to guests.
• Delivery of beverages to guests.
• Monitor guests drinks and anticipate needs.
• Produce drinks, complete orders of guests and other servers.
• Clean and service bar area.
• Departing guests, ensuring proper payment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year bartending experience in a high-volume fine dining environment.
• Must have a current Louisiana Responsible Vendor’s Permit.
• Must have current ServSafe Food Handler's Certification.
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer, including appropriate pours and mixology.
• Previous cash handling experience required.
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS.
• Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers within and outside of your department.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, and twisting. Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods in indoor/outdoor environments.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Working Environment

• Interior of hotel, in restaurant and kitchen areas, with exposure to humidity, steam and extreme temperatures.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals used in food and beverage service.
• Exposure to food items and beverages.

Tools & Equipment

• Coffee maker/urn, toaster, microwave, beverage machines, bus trays, dishware, silverware, glassware, cart, telephone, pen/pencil, photocopying machine.
