The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, investigations, and process monitoring. This role ensures inventory integrity across the organization by performing counts, reconciling discrepancies, and collaborating with warehouse and operations teams to resolve issues and improve overall inventory processes. Roles & Responsibilities
Conduct scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
Record results of counts and adjust system inventory as authorized.
Lead, Investigate and resolve inventory variances, including root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations.
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure system data matches physical inventory.
Support periodic full physical inventories and audits.
Coordinate with warehouse, production, and purchasing teams to validate stock movements and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor and ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of inventory items.
Work with warehouse staff to correct misplacements, labeling errors, or process issues.
Utilize ERP or WMS systems to track, record, and adjust inventory transactions.
Maintain cycle count logs and inventory adjustment reports for management review.
Assist in developing and improving inventory control processes and procedures.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree .
2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
RFID process experience, both with utilization and implementation.
Qualifications
Understanding of inventory management principles and best practices
Understanding of cycle counting methods and physical inventory processes
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
Analytical and problem-solving skills for investigating inventory discrepancies
Organizational skills to manage cycle count schedules and inventory records
Math skills for counting, reconciliation, and reporting
Ability to operate inventory control systems and related technology
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to handle repetitive tasks with a high level of focus and accuracy
Ability to identify and escalate issues affecting inventory integrity
