The role converts external market signals into rigorous insights and recommendations that inform portfolio, investment, and partnership decisions across Microsoft Gaming. Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 6+ years marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field AND 8+ years marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience 2+ years experience in Strategy, Management Consulting, and/or Finance. Experience using market insights to drive growth within gaming, entertainment, or a similar industry. Preferred Qualifications: Instincts for portfolio management, sound business judgment, and proven framing skills to support key trade-offs and decisions. Demonstrated hypothesis-driven, problem-solving orientation with the ability to leverage both quantitative and qualitative analyses for decision-making. Proven ability to engage, influence, and manage positive relationships with key stakeholders, including executive communities across game studios, engineering, marketing, finance, corporate strategy, business development, etc. Business Strategy IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $155,800 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,400 - $303,600 per year. Market Research Leadership Lead comprehensive market research using internal data, third party analyses, financial filings, and stakeholder input to address high impact strategic questions. Frame research scope and hypotheses; align with executives; mentor teams on approach and standards. Define and manage multi workstream projects with clear goals, deliverables, and timelines; proactively identify and remove roadblocks. Build and govern a standardized market data repository. Strategy and Forecasting Monitor competitive dynamics and emerging technologies to inform strategy. Deliver a global 5+ year gaming market forecast and scenario analysis. Translate insights into recommendations on growth opportunities and strategic issues; identify portfolio gaps and opportunities for the leadership team. Problem Solving and Partnerships Develop, institutionalize, and coach teams on problem solving frameworks and methodologies. Partner with Corporate Development on M&A and strategic partnership assessments. Produce performance retrospectives on major competitive launches and implications for Game Content & Studios (GC&S), and issue timely updates on emerging technologies and competitive moves. Executive Communication and Decision Support Communicate insights to senior leaders through concise memos, reports, and briefings; drive alignment and decisions with minimal iteration. Demonstrate executive presence and influence; present clear options, trade offs, and implications on complex issues.
