Asset Management - Analyst
Overview
The Asset Management Analyst will play a key role in supporting the execution of business plans across a portfolio of multifamily assets. This role involves financial analysis, reporting, market research, and operational oversight to optimize portfolio performance and deliver value to investors and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be analytical, proactive, and highly organized, with strong communication and collaboration skills. Someone who is comfortable raising their hand to ask questions, is curious to learn, and is comfortable managing various projects at once. Key Responsibilities
Assisting in the preparation and review of annual operating budgets and property‑level business plans. Reviewing monthly financial and operating reports to measure property and portfolio performance against budgets and business plans. Communicating findings and coordinating with Asset Managers and Property Management teams to ensure operational goals (NOI growth, occupancy targets, capital projects, etc.) are achieved or exceeded. Conducting financial modeling and analysis to evaluate asset and portfolio performance, identify trends, and assess improvement opportunities. Preparing and presenting hold/sell analysis and supporting the disposition process of assets, and performing ad‑hoc financial analyses as needed. Gathering and evaluating market data, including rent comps, occupancy trends, and competitive pricing; supporting portfolio‑wide and asset‑specific initiatives such as water conservation programs, revenue improvement strategies, and operational enhancements; researching new vendors and technologies to improve property management, marketing, and operations capabilities. Assisting asset management with the implementation of new technology systems to help oversee performance of the assets; gathering data, validating data, troubleshooting errors, creating dashboards with third‑party vendors, and managing technology platforms. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Attention to detail, project management, professional demeanor with the ability to collaborate across teams and with third‑party partners. Self‑motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint. Technologically savvy and adaptable to new tools and data systems (e.g., Argus, REBA, Realpage, Yardi). Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Economics, Finance, or Accounting. Two or more years of relevant experience in multifamily and/or commercial real estate; affordable housing experience is a plus. Demonstrated experience in financial modeling, market analysis, and asset performance evaluation.
