Shifts:
Open to all shifts: 1st Shift (6:00am-2:30pm), 2nd Shift (3:00pm-11:30pm)
Lead Marine has immediate openings for Journeymen Pipe Welders for the Shipyard Industry in San Diego. This welding role operates on Naval Bases & Shipyards from 6:00am to 2:30pm with overtime as needed. DBID badge in hand is a plus. Must have 5 years of navy repair/marine welding experience. Pay is dependent on skills and capability.

Responsibilities
Must be able to read and comprehend basic instructions, drawings, and general correspondence in English.
Must have a thorough knowledge of SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW theory.
Must be able to certify in multiple welding qualifications.
Must be able to interpret drawings, specifications, and Navy/MSC/ABS standard items and manuals.
Must possess a working knowledge of equipment and work processes used in marine pipe welding.
Must be able to operate and care for welding equipment, portable power tools, and hand tools used to accomplish assigned work.
Must have five (5) years of pipe welding experience.
Must be experienced with welding copper nickel, carbon steel and mild steel with ceramic tape backing.
Requirements
Must comply with OSHA & NAVSEA standards
Structural welders must have at least 5 years of pipe welding experience
Must have own hood, leathers, and hand tools
Structural welders must be able to read and interpret welding symbols, prints, drawings, and prints
Must be eligible to obtain DBIDs/Naval Base Access
Certifications / Tests
Copper Nickel Brazing
SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in 2G, 3G, & 4G positions
FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) in 2G, 3G, & 4G positions
GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding)
Air Carbon Arc Gouging proficiency test
