Staff Accountant
to join a collaborative finance team and play a critical role in supporting accurate financial reporting, payroll compliance, and tax filings. The
Staff Accountant
will work closely with leadership to streamline accounting operations and contribute to a company that is transforming the future of healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
As a
Staff Accountant , you will: Accurately process recurring payroll cycles, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; respond to payroll-related inquiries promptly.
Oversee local and multi-state payroll, employment, and business compliance requirements, including registrations, filings, and renewals.
Prepare, file, and reconcile Sales and Use Tax returns across multiple states.
Perform monthly reconciliations of payroll liabilities, accruals, and other key balance sheet accounts.
Manage routine state filings, correspondence, and tax resolution matters in coordination with regulatory agencies.
Support general ledger entries, assist with month-end close, and prepare schedules for internal and external reporting.
Partner with finance leadership on audits, special projects, and process improvements.
Qualifications
To be successful as a
Staff Accountant , you should bring: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2-4 years of accounting experience (public or private), preferably including payroll and multi-state compliance
Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory filing requirements
Experience with Sales & Use Tax filings and reconciliations
Proficiency with accounting software (Sage Intacct a plus) and Excel
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders
