About the Role
As a
Manufacturing Planner
, you’ll manage assigned customer accounts from order release through shipment, ensuring on-time delivery and smooth production flow. You’ll coordinate closely with Production, Quality, and Expediting teams to resolve issues, prevent delays, and keep data accurate in our ERP system. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Review and generate work orders in alignment with customer requirements and production capacity. Track and manage open work orders to ensure on-time delivery. Partner with Expediting and Quality to address shortages, discrepancies, or scrap-related issues. Initiate and manage replacement or rework work orders. Attend weekly production meetings and report progress on assigned accounts. Maintain accurate ERP/MRP data and Excel-based trackers. Recommend process improvements and support digital tool development. Qualifications 2–5 years of experience in planning, production control, or scheduling. Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, queries). Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and routers. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing (sheet metal or fabrication). Familiarity with NCMR, RMA, and lean manufacturing practices.
