The Echocardiograph Technologist performs cardiac ultrasound examinations using advanced imaging equipment to assist in diagnosing heart conditions and supporting physicians with invasive echocardiography procedures. This part?time, day?shift position is based at Providence Newberg Medical Center and offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth. Description Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders with a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identify disease using thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assist physicians with invasive echocardiography procedures, including trans?esophageal echocardiography, trans?catheter echo?guided procedures, pericardiocentesis, echo?guided myocardial biopsies, contrast?enhanced exams, and exercise or pharmacologic stress echocardiography. Modify procedures to meet special circumstances and provide clinically useful information cost?effectively. Compete standards set by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Oregon Sonographer upon hire. National Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International or National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International, or National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. National Provider BLS from American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Applied Science (Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography). Minimum 1 year experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations (or 800 exams using all modalities). Pediatric echocardiography experience. Familiarity with imaging support for advanced heart?failure patients (mechanical support devices). Experience with echo?guided trans?catheter procedures.
