Echocardiograph Technologist at Providence St Vincent Medical Center, Portland, Oregon.
Job Summary This full‑time day‑shift technologist performs cardiac ultrasound examinations and assists in invasive echocardiography procedures, providing essential imaging support to diagnose and monitor cardiac disease.
Key Responsibilities
Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physicians’ orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment.
Objectively identify the presence or absence of disease using a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Assist physicians with invasive echocardiography examinations, including transesophageal echocardiography, trans‑catheter echo‑guided procedures, pericardiocentesis, echo‑guided myocardial biopsies, contrast‑enhanced exams, and exercise or pharmacological stress echocardiography.
Required Qualifications
Oregon Sonographer upon hire.
National Registered Cardiac Sonographer – Cardiovascular Credentialing International (or equivalent) upon hire.
National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer – Cardiovascular Credentialing International (or equivalent) upon hire.
National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire.
National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography from a CAAHPE‑accredited school.
At least 1 year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations.
Minimum of 800 exams using all available imaging modalities.
Experience with pediatric echocardiography.
Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart‑failure patients (mechanical support devices).
Experience with echo‑guided trans‑catheter procedures.
