Licensed Land Surveyor or LSIT
Location: Pleasanton, CA
Job Description MacKay & Somps is seeking a licensed land surveyor or LSIT to join our Pleasanton, CA office. This role focuses on land development and public infrastructure projects, supporting everything from early mapping to final construction. As a Land Surveyor at MacKay & Somps, you’ll coordinate with field crews and professional staff to transform engineering plans into accurate, actionable field data.
Interpret improvement and grading plans to prepare construction staking calculations.
Prepare documentation for control, topographic, aerial, and boundary surveys.
Process and perform QA / QC of field survey data.
Create base exhibits and deliverables from survey data for internal and external use.
Communicate with clients, contractors, project superintendents, field crews, and engineering staff.
Draft plats and legal descriptions or record maps.
Qualifications
Familiarity with surveying principles and the ability to read and interpret civil plans.
Proficiency or strong interest in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
Experience or willingness to learn advanced field surveying equipment software.
Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.
Collaborative, team‑oriented mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
LSIT / LS certification in California.
