Information Technology Compensation
$110K – $170K Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain production server environments, ensuring maximum uptime and performance Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) including user provisioning, group policies, and conditional access policies Configure and manage Gusto/Entra ID integration for automated employee onboarding and off-boarding workflows Administer on-premises Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) infrastructure, including domain controllers, Group Policy, and DNS Design, implement, and maintain PKI infrastructure using Step CA or similar certificate authority solutions Support and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux systems across physical and virtual environments Manage virtualization platforms including Proxmox, VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V, or similar technologies Administer and maintain TrueNAS storage systems, including configuration, performance optimization, and capacity planning Deploy, configure, and manage ManageEngine solutions for IT operations, asset management, and service desk functions Implement and maintain comprehensive backup and disaster recovery solutions with documented procedures and regular testing Monitor system performance and respond to alerts and incidents Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and Python scripting Working knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and other core services Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application deployments Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and procedures Implement and maintain security controls in accordance with NIST 800‑171, CMMC, and other relevant compliance frameworks Ensure systems meet government security requirements and support audit activities Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members Required Qualifications
Must-Have Skills
Production Server Experience: Proven track record managing mission‑critical production environments with high availability requirements Entra ID Administration: Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) administration, including identity governance, conditional access, and hybrid identity scenarios Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS): Extensive experience deploying and managing AD DS, including forest/domain design, Group Policy management, and integration with cloud identity services Windows/Linux Expertise: Advanced proficiency in both Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) Scripting & Automation: Demonstrated experience with PowerShell and Bash scripting for automation and system management Virtual Machine Experience: Solid experience with virtualization technologies such as Proxmox, VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V, or AWS EC2 Storage Administration: Experience managing enterprise storage solutions such as TrueNAS or similar NAS/SAN platforms Security & Compliance: Understanding of security best practices and experience implementing controls for regulated environments Additional Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience 5+ years of systems administration experience, preferably in regulated industries (aerospace, defense, or government contracting) Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs) Experience with monitoring and alerting tools Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information Preferred Qualifications
Active or ability to obtain security clearance Experience with NIST 800‑171, CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification), or ITAR compliance PKI infrastructure experience, particularly with Step CA or similar modern certificate authority platforms Experience implementing automated onboarding/off‑boarding workflows (Gusto integration preferred) ManageEngine platform administration and configuration experience Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, RHCE, or MCSE Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or GIAC Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) Advanced scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash) Experience with hybrid cloud architectures ITIL Foundation certification Experience with disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution in production environments Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or government contracting environments ITAR Requirements
