Overview
The Honors College Administrative and Finance Manager plays a critical role in the success of the college and its mission. They work closely with the Dean, Associate Dean, and the staff in supporting the cutting-edge endeavors of faculty and students by providing oversight of all financial management, human resources, and payroll operations. As such, they serve as a valued advisor in matters of finance and personnel for a broad range of areas, from student programs to relations with the Foundation, faculty endowments, student scholarships, and more.
Responsibilities
Manages all daily financial operations, forecasting needs, and collaborating closely with college leadership.
Performs financial analysis, accounting duties, payroll coordination, budget and report preparation, and related policy development.
Manages all accounts, reconciles accounts monthly and reviews or creates cost spending certification reports.
Monitors and ensures money is spent correctly.
Creates, manages, and maintains budget.
Coordinates, monitors, and approves all financial transactions and payroll action forms.
Prepares monthly reports for balanced accounts, verification reports, and management reports.
Reviews and negotiates college financial contracts.
Oversees records maintenance for finance and personnel actions.
Analyzes departmental financial procedures; makes recommendations and develops strategy for change.
Assists with the development, implementation and interpretation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and university policies and regulations.
Acts as the HR and payroll coordinator.
Oversees job postings, hiring, and onboarding.
Works closely with the Dean to anticipate staffing needs, maintain current staff position descriptions, and create new roles as needed.
Provides support to Dean in establishing MOUs.
Acts as the college scholarship contact; providing guidance to scholarship and awards committee.
Provides projections for upcoming scholarship years.
Coordinates with central Scholarship Office on administering of scholarship payments.
Collaborates with Associate Dean and faculty program directors on programming budgetary needs, financial actions, and deadlines. Acts as college administration and finance liaison, in communication with university central offices and other colleges.
Stays abreast of current financial and HR policies for university, state, foundation, and college, advising college leadership as needed to maintain compliance.
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree, AND:
24 months experience as a manager in an Accounting, Finance, or Business Office.
Equivalence/Substitution Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months related experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical skills.
Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
Highly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
Ability to communicate well and build rapport with students, faculty and staff.
Ability to produce reports.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Demonstrates ability to learn, interpret, and articulate complex policies and procedures.
Willingness to work independently, collaboratively, and under supervision.
Certifications None.
