Our broiler breeder brands are among the most recognized and respected in the industry and each has a proven record of success in addition to a large and loyal global customer base.We seek a skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize enterprise data pipelines and solutions that empower analytics, reporting, and decision-making across our global organization. This role will focus on developing efficient, scalable, and secure data engineering solutions in both cloud and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of professional data engineering experience with strong expertise in SQL Server, ETL, and Azure cloud data platforms, and will be comfortable mentoring junior staff and collaborating across global teams. Poultry or agriculture industry experience is beneficial but not required.Responsibilities:* Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple global sources.* Optimize ETL processes for scalability, reliability, and performance.* Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across systems across cloud (Azure preferred) and on-premises SQL Server environments.* Leverage Azure Data Services (e.g., ADLS, ADF, Azure Functions, Event Hub) to support data ingestion and orchestration.* Implement and maintain relational and dimensional data models to support reporting and analytics needs.* Collaborate with architects and analysts to align models with business use cases.* Partner with business units (finance, logistics, veterinary, production, etc.) to translate data needs into engineering solutions.* Provide technical mentorship to team members on best practices for pipeline development and data management.* Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards across global operations.* Implement monitoring, logging, and error-handling processes to safeguard data flows.Qualifications:* Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or related roles.* Advanced proficiency in SQL (Microsoft SQL Server preferred).* Proven expertise in designing and managing ETL processes and data pipelines.* Experience building and advising on construction of data marts based on developer needs/requirements.* Experience with Azure Data Services or equivalent cloud platforms.* Strong knowledge of data modeling methodologies (e.g., Kimball, Inmon) is a huge plus.* Proficiency with Python or other scripting languages for automation and data integration.* Experience integrating APIs and managing data migrations in hybrid environments.* Excellent troubleshooting skills, with proven ability to optimize data processes.* Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across global teams.* Experience in the poultry, agriculture, or life sciences industries a plus* Familiarity with BI tools (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau)* Hands-on experience with Big Data, Data Lakes, or Data Mesh/Data Hub concepts.* Exposure to Agile/SCRUM methodologies.* Must be a U.S. citizen, or possess the legal right to work in the United States as per applicable immigration lawsWe play a leading role in feeding the world's future generations.
