STATE TITLE: PROGRAM SPECIALIST II

This position is required to work onsite five days per week (Monday - Friday) at TxDMV headquarters located in Austin, TX.

Telecommuting may be necessary due to current building construction.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION Our mission at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is to serve, protect and advance the citizens and industries in the state with quality motor vehicle related services. We are a dynamic state agency dedicated to customer service, consumer protection and the success of motor vehicle-related industries.

This position provides moderately complex (journey-level) technical inventory management support. Documents and checks technology related inventory levels for the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. Adheres to established inventory management systems and procedures, maintains stock levels, and fulfills equipment requests for technical staff. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Follows and maintains program policies, procedures, standards, and manuals in alignment with program objectives and goals.

Collects and organizes materials in response to program information and reporting requests.

Provides inventory service delivery to technical staff, fulfilling equipment requests accurately and efficiently.

Monitors inventory needs, forecasts supply demands, and maintains stock availability.

Receives, unloads, documents, and stores shipments of new equipment and supplies.

Processes incoming technical equipment for storage or disposal through surplus.

Maintains detailed and accurate inventory records to support staff needs and program requirements.

Collaborates with technical inventory staff to develop and integrate new or revised inventory management methods and procedures.

Assists in the preparation and documentation of reports to monitor program performance.

Required to attend work regularly and adhere to approved work hours in compliance with department policies and procedures.

May travel up to 5% of the time. Travel s by car (may include flying). May include overnight travel. May require working extended hours and some evenings and weekends, as needed.

Knowledge of:

The various types of technical equipment.

Inventory software

MS Excel

Information security policies and procedures.

SCHEDULE AND LOCATION Position will be working at 3712 Jackson Ave. Austin, Texas 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, but may require non-standard/on-call business hours during emergencies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to lift and transfer items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.

Ability to speak, hear, and exercise visual acuity.

Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience: Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent plus at least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in inventory control activities and at least one (1) year of computer/computer parts inventory work. (Experience requirements may be satisfied by full-time experience or the prorated part-time equivalent.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS A degree in logistics or Inventory management.

REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION AND/OR LICENSURE A valid Class "C" driver's license is required. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within ninety (90) days after entering Texas as a new resident.
