Role Summary The Project Manager 2 will provide overall direction and leadership on moderately complex projects or segments of large construction projects. This role involves full implementation and management of project operations and administration, supporting JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values.

Autonomy & Decision Making:

Makes decisions within defined limits of authority and consults with supervisors on other decisions.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core PROJECT MANAGEMENT FAMILY - CORE

Lead safety culture initiatives, promote an injury-free environment, investigate safety incidents, and retrain staff as needed.

Manage the JE Dunn prestart checklist form.

Support preconstruction activities including quantity takeoff, trade coordination, scope development, bid package creation, scheduling, and bid advertisement.

Lead buyout schedule planning, verify pricing, scope, and manage subcontractor issuance.

Oversee submittal schedules, review and approve shop drawings and samples, and coordinate with logistics for materials and equipment pricing.

Coordinate risk management activities, including subcontractor approval and ongoing risk analysis throughout the project lifecycle.

Manage stakeholder communication, including subcontractors, owners, field teams, design teams, and vendors.

Handle change requests, gather subcontractor pricing, and prepare owner/architect approvals.

Lead project meetings, manage monthly pay applications, develop and update project schedules, and identify potential schedule impacts.

Provide regular project status reports, financial forecasts, and lead project closeout processes.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core In addition, this role involves understanding estimating processes, managing project risks, and engaging in external relationship building.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Accuracy, timeliness, and effective communication skills.

Proficiency in MS Office, project management, scheduling software, and construction technology.

Ability to build relationships, collaborate, and manage budgets for profitability.

Education

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience

7+ years in construction management.

Working Environment

Valid driver’s license, ability to lift 25 pounds, willingness to travel or relocate, and work non-traditional hours.

Exposure to extreme conditions and activity at project sites or office.
