CHAMP Assistance Dogs Director of Development
Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to support the growth of CHAMP Assistance Dogs. The successful candidate will oversee and execute a comprehensive effort to substantially increase contributed income through major gifts, annual giving, corporate and foundation support, special events and donor stewardship to meet organizational goals.
Position Responsibilities
Develop and implement annual and multi-year fundraising plans aligned with organization goals and informed by data and donor trends.
Identify, qualify, and engage new prospects while deepening relationships with current supporters through strategic, individualized cultivation and retention plans.
Cultivate and solicit transformational gifts through meaningful, face-to-face engagement and recognition programs that connect donor passion with CHAMP’s vision and community impact.
Partner with the Board of Directors, Development Committee, staff and volunteers to inspire deeper involvement in fundraising.
Establish and track clear fundraising metrics, analyze trends, and share results to form strategy and demonstrate impact.
Develop inspiring, mission-aligned messaging, persuasive fundraising appeals and campaign materials that resonate with donors.
Oversee the submission of grant proposals and ensure that the donor database is maintained.
Contribute to strategic planning for sustained revenue growth and expanded community reach.
Along with the Executive Director, establish and maintain relationships with key community and strategic partners.
Play a major role in planning and execution of fundraising events in partnership with staff, board, and volunteers.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or other relevant field.
CFRE Designation Preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in nonprofit development with a strong track record in individual giving, major gifts, and donor cultivation.
Outstanding written and verbal skills.
Event planning experience and expertise.
Passionate about CHAMP’s mission.
