Save Job

The opportunity:

We’re on a mission to create accessible pathways into healthcare careers. As a Senior Product Engineer and Tech Lead on the Growth Team, you’ll own the onboarding flow at the very start of that pathway. You’ll collaborate with high calibre Marketing and Product teams to drive the full development lifecycle – from identifying opportunities and building full-stack features to running A/B tests and analyzing outcomes. Stepful measures success by our Students’ outcomes: enrollment rate, graduation rate and job placement rate. On the Growth team, you’ll directly drive enrollment rates while optimizing acquisition efficiency, and strengthening the analytics foundation that powers every growth decision. This is a high-impact role for a product-minded engineer who loves moving fast, learning from data, and owning meaningful business outcomes. Apply to improve how hundreds of thousands of students start their new career in healthcare. What you’ll do:

Build Full-Stack Student-facing experiences: Build an LLM-powered support experience for onboarding Students

Launch referral systems, new landing pages, and re-engagement campaigns

Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Marketing to move concepts from experiment to launch

Experiment and Optimize: Optimize performance from client bundles and CDNs to Rails and PostgreSQL

Analyze user journeys, funnel metrics, and campaign performance to identify opportunities

Design and run A/B tests to continuously improve student experience and increase conversion at every stage of their onboarding journey

Partner with PMs and Analysts to generate hypotheses, prioritize experiments, interpret results, and drive improvement

Build Analytics Infrastructure: Implement reliable event tracking and conversion attribution across our digital properties

Synchronize data between Stepful and ad providers to support efficient ad spend and accurate ROI calculations

Build on our core analytics infrastructure (Webflow, Segment, BigQuery, Preset) to ensure data is accurate and actionable for the entire team

What you’ll bring:

7+ years of experience in full-stack or growth-focused engineering roles.

Fluency in SQL and comfort with relational databases and warehouses

Familiarity with attribution, UTM setup, and tools like Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager (GTM), and Meta/Google ad pixels

A product and business mindset — you care about impact, not just implementation

Bonus points if:

You’re comfortable in our stack: React, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, and PostgreSQL

You’re an expert with A/B testing (e.g., Optimizely, LaunchDarkly, or custom tools)

You’ve worked in a direct-to-consumer (D2C) startup environment

You’ve owned end-to-end attribution infrastructure
