Job Details: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller for our rapidly growing construction company. This position will play a critical role in the strategic direction of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's financial and accounting functions, including job costing, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned financial professional who is looking to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all company financial operations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Develop and implement robust job costing systems to accurately capture all project costs and provide critical data for decision-making. Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and aid strategic planning. Lead the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets. Conduct financial forecasting, identifying trends and potential risks and opportunities. Implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data. Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process. Collaborate with senior management to set financial goals and strategies for the company. Provide financial analysis as needed, particularly for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry. Proven experience in job costing, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and construction accounting standards. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
