Senior Accountant-Construction or Manufacturing Costing Senior Accountant Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role will take ownership of project and job cost accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting through work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, cost analysis, and percent-of-completion revenue recognition. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a construction or manufacturing environment and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of job costing, including tracking project budgets, labor, materials, and overhead allocations. Prepare and maintain WIP schedules and perform percentage-of-completion (POC) calculations for accurate revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP. Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to analyze cost variances, identify trends, and recommend process improvements. Perform monthly close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Support preparation of financial statements, project-level P&Ls, and management reports. Reconcile and analyze inventory, COGS, and fixed assets, ensuring proper capitalization and depreciation schedules. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, incorporating cost and job-level data. Partner with auditors and external stakeholders during financial audits and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP. Support implementation and continuous improvement of ERP systems and cost-tracking processes. Senior Accountant Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or project-based industries. Strong understanding of WIP reporting, job costing, and percentage-of-completion accounting. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, JD Edwards, NetSuite, or similar). Advanced Excel skills and solid analytical mindset. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
