Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain production tooling, fixtures, jigs, and gauges used in the manufacturing of drivetrain components.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure tooling supports efficient and accurate manufacturing processes.
Troubleshoot and repair damaged or worn tooling to minimize production downtime.
Evaluate and implement improvements to existing tooling designs to enhance performance, longevity, and ease of use.
Manage tooling inventory and track tooling life cycles, maintenance schedules, and spare parts.
Support the introduction of new products and processes through the development of custom tooling solutions.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, internal quality standards, and manufacturing specifications.
Document tooling designs, maintenance records, and revision histories.
Qualifications
Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
3+ years of experience in tooling design, maintenance, or toolmaking in a manufacturing environment, preferably related to drivetrain or precision-machined components.
Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and knowledge of CAM or CNC programming is a strong plus.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes including gear cutting, turning, grinding, and heat treatment.
Familiarity with GD&T, machining tolerances, and material specifications.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Background in tool and die making or hands-on machining experience.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality systems.
