A dynamic nonprofit organization is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented
Director of Finance & Operations
to oversee its financial, administrative, HR, IT, and facilities functions. Reporting directly to the Executive Director & CEO, this senior leadership role is ideal for a mission-aligned professional with a strong background in nonprofit finance and operational management.
Responsibilities:
Finance & Accounting Lead all accounting functions, including budgeting, reporting, and audits Prepare monthly financial reports and variance analyses Oversee investment portfolios and earned revenue strategies Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial systems Collaborate with the Finance Committee and external auditors Operations & Administration Manage HR functions including payroll, benefits, and compliance Maintain and update personnel and emergency procedure manuals Oversee IT systems and vendor relationships Coordinate insurance renewals and grant-related financials Support cross-departmental collaboration and reporting Facilities Supervise administrative staff and third-party property management Oversee capital improvements and facilities planning Coordinate with Curatorial and Development teams on shared initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 10+ years of relevant experience, including nonprofit fund accounting Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite Experience with HR systems (e.g., ADP) and retirement plans (e.g., TIAA)
