$180,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Healthcasts This BI Architect position will work collaboratively with other stakeholders in the business to understand our data and reporting needs in order to design and implement a Data Warehouse architecture and model that will support the specific reporting requirments needed to analyze data trends. This role will need to evaluate the current setup and determin a plan to then build out the subsequent implementation of the Data Warehouse from the ground up using industry-leading technologies built on top of Snowflake.This will include looking at ways to improve how we store data in our relational schema, what data we to move to the Data Warehouse, how and where we ETL that data, how we store the data once ETL is done and how we design the Warehouse shcema to fit our reporting requirements. The BI Architecht will also evaluate data storage trends and the best way to ETL the data from our production relational database to a data warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Strategy Define and lead the architectural design for a scalable, secure, and high-performance
data lakehouse
leveraging Snowflake, S3, and other modern data platforms. Migrate legacy MySQL data warehouse to Snowflake while maintaining data integrity, lineage, and availability during the transition. Establish frameworks for ingesting data from various sources including EHRs, APIs, files (CSV, JSON, XML), and unstructured data (PDFs, clinical notes). Collaborate with technology leadership to shape the
data strategy , governance policies, and data lifecycle management processes. Design scalable data models (dimensional/star schema, data vault) optimized for analytics, BI, and self-service. Oversee the development of ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like dbt, Airflow, Rivery, or custom scripts. Implement robust data quality checks, data cataloging, and metadata management frameworks. BI & Reporting Enablement Partner with Data Analysts and Product Managers to translate business needs into data requirements and analytics solutions. Enable self-service reporting and dashboard development using tools like
Tableau ,
Power BI , or
Looker . Define KPIs, semantic layers, and data marts for critical business domains (e.g., patient engagement, treatment efficacy, operational metrics). Act as a thought leader and mentor to Data Analysts and junior engineers, promoting best practices in data modeling, visualization, and querying. Establish and document data architecture standards and guidelines for internal and external teams. Support cross-functional teams in understanding and accessing data assets securely and efficiently. Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience in data architecture, BI, or analytics engineering roles. 3+ years of experience designing or migrating data platforms to
Snowflake . Deep understanding of
data warehousing ,
data lakes ,
ETL/ELT , and
cloud-native architectures
(AWS preferred). Proficiency with SQL and tools like dbt, Airflow, or equivalent. Experience working with both
structured
and
unstructured
healthcare data. Proven ability to lead data migration or modernization initiatives from legacy systems (e.g., MySQL on RDS). Strong understanding of
data privacy
and
compliance standards
(e.g., HIPAA, SOC2). Experience in
healthcare data analytics , including clinical data, claims, EHR/EMR integration, or FHIR standards. Familiarity with unstructured data processing (e.g., NLP on clinical notes). Experience with modern DevOps/DataOps practices (e.g., CI/CD for data pipelines). Hands-on knowledge of data observability tools (e.g., Monte Carlo,etc).
