Job Summary We are seeking a new APP to join our Neuro-Interventional Team. Specifically, the right candidate will join the newly reorganized Lumbar Puncture Service provided through Neuro-Interventional Radiology (NIR). The position will be housed in the Department of Neurosurgery, and will involve partnering with another APP on the LP Service under direct supervision by the Director of NIR. This role will involve performing inpatient consultations for lumbar puncture requests, identifying patients and screening, and performing both bedside lumbar punctures and fluoroscopically guided lumbar punctures.

Responsibilities

Perform inpatient consultations for requests for lumbar punctures.

Identify patients and screen for suitability.

Perform bedside lumbar punctures and fluoroscopically guided lumbar punctures.

Qualifications

MSN for Nurse Practitioners or BS for Physician Assistants.

1 year related experience.

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C).

Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, push, pull.

Shift and Schedule Monday through Friday, 7:30am to approximately 4:00pm. Candidates should be prepared to take ‘from-home’ call on 2 Saturdays per month (average), with low likelihood of requirement to come in on Saturdays.
