Overview

Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician (ACADEMIC POSITION) at University of California, San Francisco. Responsible for diagnosing and managing the full spectrum of sports medicine conditions affecting both children and adults. The candidate should have expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes and experience in team coverage and mass event coverage. Appointment at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank of the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, Clinical X, or In-Residence faculty series. Responsibilities

Provide clinical care in sports medicine for pediatric and adult patients. Participate in teaching residents, medical students, and supervision in the UCSF Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship. Engage in clinical and/or basic research and publish results in peer-reviewed journals. Contribute to educational and clinical program leadership within Primary Care Sports Medicine. Collaborate on clinical and/or basic research and participate in scholarly activities across UCSF sites. Participate in team coverage and mass event coverage as part of clinical duties. Qualifications

A valid California medical license. MD or DO from an accredited program. Completed an accredited residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Completed Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. Board certified or eligible with one of the following boards: American Board of Family Medicine; Internal Medicine; Pediatrics; Emergency Medicine; Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Board-certified or eligible Primary Care Sports Medicine certification. Clinical expertise in diagnosing and managing sports medicine conditions in children and adults. Expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound. Experience in team coverage. Applicants must list (pending) qualifications upon submission and meet all requirements by the time of hire. Salary scales set the minimum pay by academic rank and step at the time of appointment. The posted minimum base salary is $154,700. Total negotiated compensation can be higher, potentially up to $900,000 depending on qualifications and productivity.
