If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.## ## Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a/an **Director, Sourcing** located **(Austin TX)**Reporting to the **Sr Director, Commodity Management Mechanical** the **Director, Sourcing** serves as primary role for segment related new supplier sourcing activities with the aim of having appropriate suppliers for newly required capabilities and in case of capacity increase required from Flex segment teams.**What a typical day looks like:*** Supports the business development activities of the customers. Such activities may include preparing and presenting to segment leaders, SSCMs or customers as to Flex supply chain management on supply base expansion progress and localization.* Work closely with Mechanical GCMs to develop the sourcing and supply chain strategy for all Segment customer programs and ensure agreement within the Flex organization of such strategy as well as agreement with the Segment customers. Such activities will include the participation in the selection of the Flex manufacturing site to support the customer (done in conjunction with the Segment SSCM), the selection of suppliers (incl. Vertical Integration) to support Flex production and the logistics network related to incoming material.* Lead the timely execution of sourcing and supply chain strategy for Segment customer programs following the Flex Supplier Selection & Part & Process Approval Process. Such activities will include supplier pre-selection, supplier technical discussions incl. capacity reservations, supplier T&Cs verification vs. quote, final supplier selection and transition of activity to the Flex manufacturing site at procurement ordering release.* Provide support to Flex SSCMs and account management teams regarding customer issues and questions on materials and mechanical supply chain management. Such support may include responding to customer technical questions, inquiries on schedule or costing questions initiated by Flex SSCM team* Supports site Localization Teams to ensure proper opportunity implementation as well as collaborate to identify potential opportunities to increase Material Margin, increase BOM Control and PSL Penetration.* Leading the Americas sourcing team is direct line manager with team members in the US and Mexico.**The experience we’re looking to add to our team,*** Bachelor’s degree in business management, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline; MBA preferred.* Exceptional program management skills having managed multiple, complex programs simultaneously with respect to order schedule adherence, cost and inventory.* A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in one or more disciplines of supply chain management and operations related to mechanical assemblies or commodities. Such disciplines to include commodity management, sourcing, initial purchasing, materials management, manufacturing, assembly & test, logistics or other related area.* Demonstrated understanding of effective supply chain management in a manufacturing environment (preferably in mechanical manufacturing).* Demonstrated success in supplier relationship management.
