Job Description Summary

The MRI Technologist I specializes in magnetic resonance imaging scanners. Responsible for injecting patients with contrast media, such as a dye, so that the images will show up on the scanner. The scanners use magnetic fields in combination with the contrast agent to produce images that a physician can use to diagnose medical problems. Responsibilities

Perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans using appropriate protocols. Administer contrast media to patients as required for imaging, ensuring patient safety and compliance with applicable policies. Operate MRI equipment and monitor patients during procedures. Prepare and position patients, position coils and accessories for imaging; ensure patient comfort and safety. Maintain accurate imaging documentation and assist physicians in image interpretation as needed. Qualifications

Minimum Training and Education: Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology or MRI. One year of radiology or MRI experience preferred. Willing to cross train. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MR. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, through American Heart Association or American Red Cross equivalent. Work Details
