At Villari Foods, the Quality Assurance Supervisor plans, coordinates, and supervises quality control staff on the production floor to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through the designee. Oversees compliance with all HACCP, SSOP, GMP, and SQF requirements. Candidates must be HACCP & GFSI certified.
Job Duties
Assist in developing, analyzing, and reassessing the HACCP Plans, SSOPs, SOPs, prerequisites, and supporting documents as needed to produce a Safe Quality Food product.
Perform Pre‑Op twice per week.
Review deviations and assist with documenting corrective actions.
Ensure QC Technicians are completing paperwork in all departments accurately and timely.
Ensure all HACCP, SSOP, and daily paperwork has been reviewed and filed appropriately.
Must be able to work with USDA and management at a professional level.
Develop a training program for QC employees on GMPs, SSOPs, SQF, Control Points, and CCPs.
Perform and initial QC auditing paperwork throughout the shift and review deficient and missing information with the technicians.
Conduct SQF monthly internal audits.
Conduct line audits in the absence of a QC technician.
Coordinate weekly work schedule for QC Technician.
Work closely with HR in implementation of all company personnel policies to ensure QC employees abide by all rules regulations. Perform disciplinary action if needed.
Enforce shutdown of production lines to protect the product quality and food safety.
Coordinate samples to customers and between facilities when necessary.
Communicate any quality issues immediately to the Director of Food Safety, QC Manager, and Director of Operations.
Assist the Plant Manager, Director of Food Safety, and QC Manager with quality projects.
Assist in training QC Technicians Managers, and Plant Management when needed.
Assist in staffing in the QC department at VFG as necessary to control food safety on the production floor.
Follow all safety rules.
Assure that all high‑risk processing protocols are being performed according to the company’s RTE policies.
Assist in ensuring compliance to all phases of the company’s listeria control plan and instituting necessary corrective actions when positives occur.
Assist with In‑Plant validation studies needed to maintain regulatory requirements.
Assist in the implementation of all new product specifications and communicate to plant management and QC staff.
Knowledge of all plant export requirements.
Other duties as assigned or requested by upper management.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
3‑5 years of Experience in a high‑volume food manufacturing environment or related field preferred.
Demonstrated experience and a strong commitment to meeting internal customer requirements and continuous improvement objectives.
HACCP & GFSI Certified.
Preferred Qualifications
HACCP & GFSI Certified
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Food Science, Nutrition, and Food.

Occasionally, May be required to work in production environment that are hot, cold, wet environment, working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually below 85 dB for a time‑weighted average of 8 hours.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Able to speak and hear for safety and productivity.
Use scanners, tablets, radios, phones, and other warehouse machinery.
Employees are regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walking, and lifting; talk or hear, both in persona and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms.
