JR109912**Compensation:**$59,500.00 - $75,900.00**Compensation Type:**Salary**Employment Type:**Regular**Grade:**E08**Position Summary**The Senior Learning Experience Designer, under minimal supervision, leads in the mentoring and overseeing of design team and assignments. This position will work closely with faculty and subject matter experts in leading, assigning, coordinating, prototyping, and developing high-quality online learning experiences. This position will design online learning activities, consult on instructional design, and collaborate on innovative uses of educational technology in higher education.**Duties & Responsibilities*** Leads in the planning and scheduling of projects by determining format, approach, content, level and medium. Coordinates the production schedules of other members on the design team and in conjunction with the phases of the learning experience creation process.* Directs projects working collaboratively with learning experience designers level I and subject matter experts to conceptualize, prototype, design and develop engaging digital learning activities and compelling learning experiences in the learning management system that enhance retention and knowledge.* Consults with subject matter experts in determining knowledge gaps through in-depth research of course and course materials. Determines optimal way to present content while maintaining student retention using Universal Design Principles and accessibility standards.* Analyzes learning metrics to assess the effectiveness of digital learning solutions and makes changes to keep up with the emerging needs of learners.* Offers technical, creative, and logistical recommendations, both within the team and externally, on the design and production of learning content.* Leads the creation and facilitation of trainings, workshops, templates, and design guides that help faculty and staff develop skills in new software applications, technologies, interactive systems, and design issues.* Directs the research, evaluation, and testing of new multimedia technologies as well as the configuration, maintenance, upgrading, and troubleshooting of multimedia systems and software.* Employs a learner-centric, holistic approach to improving the online learning experience for learners* Identifies a target audience, develops learning experience wireframes, designs storyboards and prototypes in alignment with best practices in online pedagogy and user experience design. Maintains currency with new technologies. Researches, evaluates, and tests new technology used in higher education.
