(Onsite Monday-Thursday, WFH Friday) Job Summary Our Utilities and Gas client is seeking a GIS Technician II to support spatial data initiatives, system enhancements, and geospatial analytics. The role focuses on GIS data analysis, data mining, automation, and database maintenance. Ideal candidates will have experience in solving complex geospatial problems and improving workflows through scripting and process design. Key Responsibilities Analyze and improve geospatial data workflows and integrations Perform data conversion, migration, and maintenance from spatial and tabular sources Create custom maps, queries, and reports to meet business needs Automate GIS tasks using Model Builder and Python Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of versioned data before deployment Identify and implement new GIS technologies and applications Collaborate with internal users to document and support data requests Support application testing and log/document system defects Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, engineering, computer science, or related field with 2–4 years of experience OR GIS certificate with 2+ years of relevant GIS experience Minimum 1 year of experience in a utility or pipeline GIS environment Preferred Skills & Tools: Basic: AutoCAD, VBA, SharePoint Strong geoprocessing, spatial analysis, and technical problem-solving skills Excellent communication and documentation abilities Adaptability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision Seniority level
