Job Description Overview JST is seeking a highly qualified IT Project Manager (Journeyman) to join our team. This role is crucial for providing the connective tissue between customers, leadership, and execution teams for both IT and data-related projects and tasks. You will ensure that project objectives are met within scope, schedule, and budget, while adhering to defined processes and quality standards. The ideal candidate is experienced in managing cross-functional teams, delivering both process improvements and technical products, and possesses a strong strategic mindset. IT Project Manager (Journeyman) Responsibilities Serve as the primary liaison and "connective tissue" between stakeholders at the Program Manager level, executives, and execution teams for IT and data-related projects. Understand higher-level objectives and ensure requests for IT applications, services, and resources align with strategic goals. Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements in line with organizational goals. Develop detailed project plans using tools such as Smartsheet, JIRA, or equivalent. Manage day-to-day project execution, coordinating with developers, QA, stakeholders, and vendors. Adapt quickly to new or changing directions from leadership. Assess incoming requests, determine next steps, and route appropriately. Create and manage project roadmaps. Meet with stakeholders to develop requirements and recommend actions based on higher-level objectives. Prepare compelling presentations for various stakeholders, including executives. Manage meetings effectively, including setting agendas, facilitating discussions, and distributing minutes. Create agendas for meetings, gather feedback, and ensure thorough preparation. Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to explain processes clearly and accurately. Use metrics and dashboards to demonstrate work progress and ROI to executives. IT Project Manager Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. 3-5 years of project management experience in IT environments. Government experience is a plus. Certifications such as PMP, CSM, or equivalent. Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana, Trello). Experience with Smartsheet or Jira is a plus. Dashboarding experience is essential. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and prepared. Customer-focused, approachable, and positive in a fast-paced environment. Ability to complete actions promptly (within days).
