About the Team:
The Terrestrial Software team is building the foundation for an automated rocket factory and integrated launch platform. Their mission is to automate workflows across the entire lifecycle of Terran R, from raw materials to launch, and eventually manufacturing on Mars. Currently, they partner with design, materials, manufacturing, and test teams to develop enterprise applications, industrial automation, data analytics, and AI solutions to solve real problems and accelerate progress. Long-term, they aim to create a modular, scalable software platform for autonomous operations on Earth and beyond. This team is for builders and thinkers who thrive on cross-functional impact and want to shape the digital future of space exploration.
About the Role:
As part of the Industrial Automation Software team, you will be involved in the software development lifecycle — from concept and trade studies to design, implementation, root cause analysis, and deployment.
Follow Agile practices to develop quality software that is continuously integrated and deployable.
Solve complex problems with simple, elegant solutions to power factory systems, hardware validation, engine testing, and rocket launches.
Develop user interfaces used across the company, including component testing, engine testing, and launch control systems.
About You:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Computer, Software, Electrical, Aerospace) or Computer Science.
5+ years of experience in areas such as:
Designing low-level architectures for real-time hardware control.
Developing responsive UI and data backends for safety-critical systems.
Building test and simulation environments.
Proficient in C/C++, Rust, or Go.
Familiar with CI/CD and agile methodologies in high-performance settings.
Nice to haves:
Experience with microservices architecture for high-performance, distributed systems.
Managing high-volume, low-latency data flows.
Knowledge of synchronization, memory management, and performance optimization.
Experience with safety-critical software development and hardware interfaces.
Debugging and deploying complex, multi-platform software products.

Hiring Range: $165,000—$211,000 USD
