As a Full Time Senior Controller, you’ll shape the financial future of our vibrant community, ensuring our members have a stellar experience while driving operational success.

Key Responsibilities Financial Strategy & Leadership

Develop and implement the Club's financial strategy.

Provide strategic recommendations to the Club's board and executive team.

Align financial management with the Club's long‑term goals and mission.

Prepare annual budgets and long‑term financial forecasts.

Conduct financial analysis to support decision‑making.

Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities.

Present financial reports and insights to the board and committees.

Collaborate with department heads for cross‑functional financial alignment.

Communicate financial health and strategies to key stakeholders.

Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer on financial strategy and long‑term financial planning.

Provide financial insights for capital projects, renovations, and major expenditures.

Assist in membership pricing models and fee structures.

Accounting & Reporting

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.

Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Implement and maintain effective financial controls and reporting systems.

Monitor membership dues, initiation fees, and other revenue streams.

Oversee cost control measures to optimize profitability.

Ensure financial sustainability through effective pricing models.

Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.

Develop and manage the Club's annual budget and financial forecasts.

Ensure accuracy in all financial records and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Conduct variance analysis and provide financial insights to the Chief Operating Officer.

Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee account reconciliation processes.

Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure the Club's financial stability.

Develop cash management strategies and investment policies.

Monitor working capital and reserve funds.

Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.

Oversee revenue collection, including membership dues, event billing, and other income sources.

Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard Club assets.

Ensure timely bank reconciliations and cash management practices.

Protect Club's assets through strong internal control policies and procedures.

Ensure the Club complies with all financial regulations and tax obligations.

Conduct internal audits and work with external auditors.

Implement risk management policies and ensure proper insurance coverage.

Capital Management & Investments

Oversee capital expenditure planning and funding.

Manage capital improvement projects and related financing.

Optimize the Club's investment portfolio for growth and security.

Implement and manage financial software systems.

Ensure data integrity and cybersecurity within financial operations.

Oversee the use of financial software systems which is ClubEssential.

Ensure financial data security and proper system backups.

Lead and develop the finance and accounting team.

Foster a culture of financial accountability and transparency.

Supervise and train accounting staff, ensuring adherence to best practices.

Work closely with department heads to ensure proper financial procedures across Club operations.

Governance & Ethics

Uphold ethical financial practices and Club governance policies.

Serve as a financial advisor for board committees (e.g., finance, audit).

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.

Prepare for and manage external audits and reviews.

Maintain records for tax filings, including payroll taxes, sales taxes, and property taxes.

Additional Responsibilities

Prepare reports for the Leadership Team and Owners meetings.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend operational improvements.

Education, Experience, Knowledge

Education: BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with emphasis in accounting.

Minimum: 5 years of work‑related experience in a Country Club environment, preferred.

Other Skills: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to multi‑task, work under pressure; meet deadlines; detail oriented and strong organizational skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have a strong ability to resolve technical problems.

The ability to train and develop employees.
