Site Head

Industry category:

Location:

Proctor, WV

Compensation:

$140,000 - $162,000 + Bonus + relocation

Job Overview:

We are seeking a senior Maintenance and Reliability leader to own mechanical integrity, equipment uptime, and asset life at a highly automated, 50‑person site. You will lead a team of work administrators and technicians, 4 to 5 direct reports, set the strategy for preventive, predictive, and reliability‑centered maintenance, and serve as the plant’s Equipment Reliability Champion.

The asset base includes turbines, compressors, centrifuges, high‑pressure steam systems, DCS and PLC controls, and a broad range of electrical equipment from top global OEMs. Success in this role means safer operations, higher MTBF, lower MTTR, less unplanned downtime, and disciplined CAPEX that supports expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and develop a high performing Maintenance and Reliability team, provide clear goals, technical coaching, and timely performance feedback.

Build and execute the site maintenance and reliability strategy that aligns with corporate goals and industry best practices; identify and deliver reliability, cost, and energy efficiency gains.

Champion a strong safety culture and PSM compliant Mechanical Integrity program; ensure procedures, permits, LOTO, and MOC are followed.

Establish and track KPIs, MTBF, MTTR, PM or PdM compliance, backlog health, planning accuracy, storeroom turns, and maintenance cost as a percent of RAV.

Ensure asset availability through preventive, predictive, and reliability centered maintenance, including RCM, FMEA, criticality ranking, and RBI where applicable.

Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for chronic and high impact failures; institutionalize learnings into standards, PMs, and job plans.

Plan and schedule all maintenance work to optimize craft productivity and minimize production disruptions; coordinate closely with Operations to set priorities and windows.

Own the CMMS, job plans, BOMs, and master data; drive disciplined work identification, kitting, and closeout with high quality failure coding.

Implement predictive technologies, vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, ultrasound, and condition monitoring routes; analyze trends and trigger interventions.

Oversee spare parts and MRO inventory, apply criticality, min or max, and vendor agreements to reduce carrying cost and downtime risk.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, calibrations, and repairs to meet PSM and internal standards; prepare for and lead audits.

Manage the maintenance budget; forecast spend, track variance, and deliver cost optimization without compromising reliability or safety.

Advance continuous improvement programs, RCM, TPM, precision maintenance, and craft skills development across Maintenance and Operations.

Train apprentices and operations personnel who perform basic maintenance tasks; build teamwork and shared ownership of equipment care.

Manage engineering and construction work for debottlenecking and reliability improvements; scope, justify, and execute small to mid CAPEX.

Partner with Project and Construction teams on upcoming expansion phases to ensure maintainability, reliability by design, and safe commissioning.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

15+ years in maintenance and reliability within petrochemical or chemical plants; managerial experience preferred; PSM experience required.

Hands on expertise with rotating and fixed equipment and strong troubleshooting skill on complex equipment issues.

Deep knowledge of modern maintenance methodologies that drive reliability, safety, and efficiency; RCM, FMEA, RCA, precision alignment and balancing.

Proficiency with CMMS or EAM systems, for example SAP PM, Maximo, or similar, and strong data discipline.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, sound judgment, and timely decision making in a production environment.

Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to chemical manufacturing.

Proven collaborator across Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to achieve site goals.
