The Environmental Health and Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and developing programs to promote a safe working environment. The right individual will have a thorough understanding of EHS – Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements including regulatory and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all EHS requirements as an example for others to follow.
Create a culture of awareness, acceptance & adherence to the EHS requirements.
Inspect the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
Schedule routine inspections and implement training according to findings.
Assist in maintaining appropriate Health, Safety, Environmental, Industrial and Process Safety Programs and necessary related training.
Audit, analyze and use EHS performance data and propose effective improvements.
Perform facility audits, surveys, and inspections to identify environmental and occupational hazards, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and develop recommendations for solutions, remedies or process improvement.
Manage SDS data – ensure safety in material handling.
Proactively meet Jabil EH&S requirements to reduce exposure and control risk.
Exhibit EHS Project management skills and ability to close out projects on time.
Attend training and seminars and then deliver training to staff in Facility.
Track compliance of the various Federal, State and Local environmental requirements.
Assist with preparation of EPA and OSHA requirements up to but not limited to OSHA 300 log, RCRA, storm water/wastewater, Large Quantity Generator Hazardous WASTE as well as Air Emissions annual inventory report.
Develop and implement training for all personnel to assure understanding and compliance of EH&S programs and environmental permit conditions.
Assist with chemical and hazardous waste management.
Other duties as assigned.
