Position Summary
Jedson Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Manager to lead cost, schedule, and forecasting functions on large‑scale EPC projects. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and ensure that project performance is accurately monitored, reported, and aligned with organizational goals. This position requires extensive EPC experience, deep technical expertise in project controls, and a proven ability to lead large, multi‑discipline teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all project controls activities including cost management, scheduling, forecasting, change management, and earned value reporting.
Develop and maintain project controls procedures, tools, and standards to ensure consistency across all projects.
Prepare and monitor project budgets, baseline schedules, and progress reports.
Analyze project performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations to project leadership.
Oversee integration of cost and schedule data for accurate project performance measurement.
Support front‑end planning, estimating, and proposal development activities.
Ensure compliance with company and client reporting standards.
Mentor and develop project controls personnel, promoting best practices across teams and projects.
Demonstrate strong client relationship management, representing Jedson’s values, standards, and procedures in all client interactions.
Demonstrated Leadership Experience
Project Controls Team Manager for a successful medium or larger project with a Total Installed Cost (TIC) over $100MM.
Department Manager for a significant‑sized Project Controls group (20+ people), with proven leadership in delivering successful projects.
Expertise in Project Controls techniques, cost reporting systems, work processes, and people development.
Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling software and experience with interactive project planning.
Technical leadership or specialist role in key Project Controls areas such as LSTK execution, conceptual execution planning, cost management, or schedule management.
Active participation in staff mentoring, development, and training programs.
Assignment And Project Phase Experience
Participation on successful projects where commercial outcomes exceeded expectations.
Experience in at least 10 project assignments, including domestic offices, site offices, or rotational field assignments (minimum 6 months field experience required).
Involvement from business development through proposal, conceptual, and FEED phases, including risk review participation.
Experience producing control‑level budgets, detailed schedules, and contingency development.
Direct responsibility for managing project scope, schedule, budget, and forecasts during design, execution, and construction phases.
Proven experience in project closeout and turnover, including lessons learned and metrics reporting.
Industry & Regional Knowledge
Deep understanding of industrial markets including Pulp & Paper, Chemicals, Consumer Products, Life Sciences, Power, and Heavy Industrial.
Knowledge of market conditions, labor availability, and cost drivers impacting EPC execution.
Understanding of local environmental, regulatory, and economic factors, including labor productivity, pricing, taxation, and import/export considerations.
Project Complexity Experience
Experience leading projects across a range of sizes and complexities, including at least one “risk project.”
Background in global execution/workshare, JV or consortium partnerships, and projects with complex commercial or financing terms.
Experience with multiple project types, including reimbursable, lump sum, and G‑max contracts.
Superior Client Relations
Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships that extend beyond individual project engagements.
History of positive client feedback or testimonials.
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to represent Jedson Engineering’s values and capabilities effectively.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 20 years of experience in project controls within an EPC or industrial engineering environment.
Demonstrated success leading project controls functions for large, multi‑discipline capital projects.
Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Excel.
Strong leadership, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and project teams in a fast‑paced environment.
External and Organizational Involvement
Active participation in at least two of the following categories preferred:
Professional associations or industry organizations
Educational partnerships or mentoring programs
Community or civic engagement
Technical publications or conference presentations
