Project Management drives the construction process by maintaining effective relationships with clients, design engineers and subcontractors. As a

Project Engineer , you will work with an experienced Project Manager and Superintendent to run solar projects from start to finish. You could be the future of Pepper.

Location: Onsite in our Barrington, IL office and project sites

What You Will Do:

Drive customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs

Facilitate the subcontractor bid process

Negotiate subcontractor and material buyout; develop and negotiate subcontracts.

Plan and schedule projects

Manage subcontractor coordination, conflict resolution, project documentation and ensure quality and safety on every job

Manage project costs through the ongoing evaluation of labor, material and equipment; continue to forecast and analyze construction costs, exposures and profits through project completion

Perform project closeout

What You Bring:

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related field

2+ years of experience in the construction field, renewable/solar experience preferred

Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Detail oriented, deadline driven, and proactive

This is an hourly, non‑exempt role. The salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $95,000.00. We consider many factors when determining actual hiring salary. These factors may include location, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, internal equity, and market demands.
