Project Engineer – Solar Construction Project Management drives the construction process by maintaining effective relationships with clients, design engineers and subcontractors. As a
Project Engineer , working with an experienced Project Manager and Superintendent, you will run solar projects from start to finish and help shape the future of Pepper.
Location: Onsite in our Barrington, IL office and project sites.
What You Will Do
Drive customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs.
Facilitate the subcontractor bid process.
Negotiate subcontractor and material buyout; develop and negotiate subcontracts.
Plan and schedule projects.
Manage subcontractor coordination, conflict resolution, project documentation and ensure quality and safety on every job.
Manage project costs through the ongoing evaluation of labor, material and equipment; continue to forecast and analyze construction costs, exposures and profits through project completion.
Perform project closeout.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field.
2+ years of experience in the construction field, renewable/solar experience preferred.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail oriented, deadline driven, and proactive.
Compensation & Benefits This is an hourly, non‑exempt role. The salary range for this position is $85,000.00 – $95,000.00.
