The Johns Hopkins University Krieger School of Arts and Sciences (KSAS) is seeking a

Research Assistant

within the Mind Brain Institute who will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and support neuroscience research projects involving neurophysiological and behavioral study in non-human primates.

Responsibilities

Perform specialized and routine procedures.

Acclimate and provide behavioral training for non-human primates (NHPs).

Assist during aseptic surgeries for surgical implantation and recording implants in NHPs.

Conduct neurophysiological recordings with high‑density probes.

Analyze behavioral and neurophysiological data, including spike sorting.

Skills and Abilities

Proficient in delivering exceptional customer service.

Demonstrated proficiency in Windows‑based word processing, the internet, and spreadsheets.

Ability to work independently, as a team member, and under direct supervision.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work with a diverse research staff and handle confidential materials.

Ability to follow protocols, policies, and procedures and respond appropriately to novel situations.

Demonstrated excellent record of attendance and punctuality.

Basic knowledge of statistical analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.

Compensation Classified Title: Research Assistant Role/Level/Range: ACRO40/E/03/CD Starting Salary Range: $17.20 – $23.75 – $30.30 HRLY (Commensurate with experience) Employee group: Full Time Schedule: Monday – Friday, hours vary FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt Location: Homewood Campus Department name: Mind Brain Institute Personnel area: School of Arts & Sciences
