Activity Class for Credit Non‑Tenure Track Faculty (Applicant Pool) Montana State University – Office of Student Engagement invites applications for the non‑tenure track instructor position in the Health & Human Development Department. The role involves teaching Activity Classes for Credit (ACT) courses, such as yoga, soccer, basketball, and weight‑training.

Brief Position Overview The ACT program is part of the Health & Human Development Department. Instructors are required to teach ACT courses on a part‑time basis. Positions will be filled based on sufficient enrollment and funding and will last up to a full academic year, depending on departmental need.

Appointment Type: Non‑Tenure Track Instructor (Pooled)

Employment Term: Semester, Fall/Spring, or full academic year as needed

Salary: Commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities

Instruct 1-credit ACT courses, developing daily lesson plans and curricula that teach new skills.

Communicate and report to the ACT Lead Coordinator.

Administer course syllabus, attendance policies, and academic components.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

Demonstrated experience working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues within and outside the department.

Experience in the specific skill/activity (e.g., yoga, soccer, basketball, weight training).

Current certifications in the skill/activity as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant or related field.

Position Special Requirements / Additional Information

The position may be a Union position; Union affiliation is determined by job duties and the collective bargaining unit.

Non‑Tenure Track faculty with 0.5 FTE or more are represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University (AFMSU). Representation may require dues; see AFMSU for details.
